Important Notification 05/11/22
Dear Parents and Staff,
We wanted to inform you of an accident in downtown Clarendon Hills earlier this morning where a truck crossing at Prospect was hit by a train. We were notified that this caused the car to roll over and catch on fire.
We wanted to let you know that all of our buses that traverse nearby routes arrived safely and were not affected. Additionally, we have determined that all of our students and staff arrived safely as well, though we know that some had unfortunately witnessed the accident during their commute. Staff is watching for any distress in students and will alert our school social workers as needed. Counseling will be available throughout the day for any students or staff who need to process the event.
In addition, we were notified by the Village of Clarendon Hills that the train track crossing at Prospect is closed to traffic and pedestrians until further notice. As a result, there may be a delay for some buses and students returning home from school this afternoon. They have been asked to use the west Hinsdale crossing or the Cass Avenue crossing in Westmont.
Please contact your school principal or my office if you have questions or concerns.
Thank you.
