The District 181 handbook (Elementary Handbook and Middle School Handbook) provides useful information about District 181’s policies, procedures, resources, and expectations for students. Please take some time to review the handbook with your child(ren) and reference it throughout the year.
The school calendar is established in advance. While we realize the value of family time, the planning of vacations while school is in session is strongly discouraged. If students will be absent from school due to vacation, parents must complete a special absence notification form and return it to school before the absence. Teachers will not be required to re-teach material missed by students. If a planned absence will occur at the end of a grading period, students will be required to submit all work before leaving on the planned absence.
In the event of a planned absence, a parent must submit an absence request through Parent Portal/Skyward, leave a message on our attendance hotline by calling 630-861-4898, or email Mrs. Kruk at email@example.com to pre-plan these (or any) absences.
Sports Physical: A sports physical is required to try out/participate in any interscholastic activity. Sports physicals are good for 12 months. If you know your child is interested in any of these activities, please scan and email his or her sports physical to the following email address: firstname.lastname@example.org. Please put your student's full name and date of birth in the subject line. You do not need to wait until the season is upon us. The sooner you get the physical turned in to our nurse, the easier the process will be.
