The week of November 4, Kyle Dine visited all D181 elementary schools to perform an Allergy Awareness presentation. Dine visits schools across North America to share fun and educational performances about food allergies that incorporate music, puppets and games.
The message not only promotes awareness among students but attaches a positive message to combat the stigma surrounding food allergies. Dine, who has many food allergies himself, anchors his language in inclusion, understanding and empathy.
The assembly was aligned with District 181's Food Allergy Management Plan, which provides a comprehensive, districtwide plan to prevent or reduce allergen exposure, educate staff, and respond to food allergy emergencies. To view the plan and parent overview, click here.
