We're excited to share that our 2019-20 climate survey will be open to D181 families starting Monday, Dec. 2.

The annual climate survey is not only a requirement for all school districts in the state, it's an opportunity to share how we're performing as a school district with audiences near and far. On Dec. 2, families will receive a link by email to complete the survey. The survey will remain open until Dec. 20.

What is school climate? School climate is the quality and character of school life. It's the patterns of our student, parent, and staff experience. It reflects norms, goals, values, interpersonal relationships, teaching and learning practices, and organizational structures.

Who takes the survey? All D181 families (K-8), teachers, and 4th-8th grade students.

How is the survey administered?

  • Families receive the survey by email starting Dec. 2.
  • Teachers will take the survey during a regularly scheduled staff meeting.
  • Students will be administered the survey at school, based on school schedules.

Why now? The state requires that we administer a climate survey annually. This time of year is optimal because it doesn't interrupt our students' testing and assessment calendars and it's the half-way point of our school calendar year. We understand the holiday season can be a busy time of year, and we appreciate you taking the time to participate.

When can we expect results? Results will be received by the District in early 2020.
