BOARD OF EDUCATION APPOINTS HINSDALE MIDDLE SCHOOL PRINCIPAL
The District 181 Board of Education on Monday approved the appointment of Ms. Cory Burke as the new principal of Hinsdale Middle School, effective July 1.
Burke is an educational leader with strong instructional experience at both the middle school and elementary levels, serving eight years as an assistant principal in Schaumburg District 54.
"Ms. Burke brings many strengths to Hinsdale Middle School and our leadership team," said Superintendent Dr. Hector Garcia. "We were very impressed by her leadership experience, academic skill set, and the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents and staff."
"I am humbled and honored to serve as the next principal of Hinsdale Middle School," she said. "I am eager to start the partnership with the community and District and look forward to the continued success of an already high achieving community."
In District 54, Burke has served as a school administrator at Winston Churchill School, Enders-Salk School concurrently with Adolph Link School, John Muir Literacy Academy and Helen Keller Junior High. She has a bachelor's degree from Northern Illinois University and a master's in educational leadership from Northern Illinois.
The search process involved parents, faculty, administrators. Parents and staff/faculty were surveyed about the qualities they wanted in a new leader and a small group of teachers, parents and administrators interviewed candidates. The pool was narrowed after further interviews and Burke emerged as the top candidate.
