Volunteer Information

Thank you for volunteering to share your time and experience with District 181 students. The efforts of volunteers like you help keep our schools the exceptional places they are. Volunteers are always expected to act professionally and respectfully. While on campus, volunteers serve as role models for our students. Please take some time to review the guidelines below. Thank you.

REQUIREMENTS:
Volunteers must register online with D181 Foundation Community Connect and complete a background check with SafeVistor before entering the school.

SIGN IN/OUT:
Volunteers must sign in and out at the school office and wear a volunteer badge while on campus. For the safety of our students and staff, it is essential that we are always aware of who is on campus.

SUPERVISION:
All volunteers MUST be accompanied or monitored by a District 181 staff member while interacting with students, both on campus and virtually.

BATHROOMS:
Volunteers MUST use the “adults only” bathrooms or use the bathroom in the office area.

ATTENDANCE/ABSENCE:
If you cannot volunteer at your agreed-upon time, please call within 24 hours to inform the School of your absence.

CONFIDENTIALITY:
All volunteers are required to keep all information that pertains to the students and staff they assist confidential.  Information regarding students, staff, and other volunteers are not to be shared or discussed with anyone not entitled to such information.

SERIOUS  BEHAVIOR  CONCERNS:
Serious concerns about student behavior during volunteer time must be referred immediately to the teacher or another D181 staff member.

POSITIVE  ENVIRONMENT ON CAMPUS:
Volunteers should contribute to the positive atmosphere in our schools by encouraging and supporting our students, staff, and one another. District 181 will not tolerate verbal abuse of any kind.
