New Student with Existing Family: Do you have a student currently enrolled in District 181 and wish to register another child? Great! Just log into your existing Skyward Family Access account and click the "New Student Online Enrollment" button to get started.

New Student with New Family: Are you a new family to District 181? Welcome! To get started with registration, please create a new account by completing the "New Student Enrollment: Account Request" form.

Steps for New Family / New Student Registration :

If you are new to District 181, begin registration by clicking the 'New Student Enrollment: Account Request' button on this page.
If you currently have a student in District 181 and want to register a NEW student, log in to your Skyward Family Access account and click the 'New Student Online Enrollment' button to begin registering a new student.
Submitting the 'New Student Enrollment: Account Request' request initiates an email to you with directions on how to complete the Online Enrollment process for Community Consolidated School District 181. Your user login and temporary password will be provided in this email.
Follow the link in the email to log into the Skyward Family Access and complete online registration.

Upload four proofs of residency and your child's birth certificate to your enrollment registration application under "Manage Documents.". We will verify all the documents, to ensure that the proof of residency meets the required criteria.

Ensure all documents are:
- Readable
- Dated within the last 30 days (We cannot accept old bills.)
- Matching your current address

Following a review of your complete registration, you will receive an email verification and your Skyward Family Access login information.

Current/Returning Students

Currently Enrolled / Returning Student Registration

Returning Student with Existing Family: No need to create a new account! Simply log in to your Skyward Family Access account and follow the registration instructions for your returning student.

Steps For Returning Student Registration

Log In to Skyward: Sign in to Skyward Family Access. Only the primary guardian will have access to D181 online registration.
SchoolPay Fees: All D181 schools use SchoolPay for processing fees. For instructions on how to use SchoolPay, please click here.
PTO Registration: Are you registered with your school’s PTO? After completing fee payment is complete, you can complete the PTO step. PTO tasks can include ordering supply kits, registering for the PTO directory, and signing up to volunteer. Note: If you already registered with your school's PTO for 2026-2027, there is no need to re-register.
Final Submission: Once you have completed PTO information, return to Skyward Family Access and complete the final submission on your registration application.
Please note that the registration process is not complete until you return to Skyward and click the “Submit Online Registration” button.

Preschool/ECE Registration

D181 Neighborhood Preschool Registration

To begin registration, complete the New Student Enrollment: Account Request online form. To be eligible for Oak Preschool, your child's age must be 3 or 4 years of age prior to September 1. Additionally, if a child turns 5 prior to September 1, they are NOT eligible for our program.

Participants must reside within District Boundaries. All families will need to provide proof of residency at the time of registration. A list of acceptable documents can be found on the Student Residency Form.

Please note that current/returning student registration opens March 3, 2026 and will not be processed at this time.

Important Notes

* To secure your enrollment as a returning preschool student, please complete registration by February 1. New student enrollment opens February 2, and thus applications received after February 1 will be honored in the order in which they are received.

* For enrollment in 2026-27, children must be three years old by September 1, 2026, potty trained, and have a health exam completed prior to the start of the year.

Preschool/ECE Tuition and Fees

Pending Board approval, the anticipated tuition cost for the D181 Preschool for the 2026-27 year will be determined in January.

Parents are encouraged to pay tuition online. Families who carry an overdue balance without timely payment will be dropped from the tuition program. Please contact Oak Preschool if you have questions regarding tuition or to set up a monthly payment option.

Important Notes

2026-27 Kindergarten Eligibility: Per state law, children who are five years old on or before September 1, 2026 are eligible to attend kindergarten in 2026-27.

Registration Fee

Registration fees will be approved at the January 2026 Board meeting.

Preschool/ECE registration fees are non-refundable.

Residency Verification/Health Requirements

To show residency within the District, the person with whom the student lives in the District and who claims custody of the student must present documents as described below. If the person enrolling the student claims the student is homeless or attending school in the student’s former district upon the determination of the Department of Children and Family Services, only the appropriate items in Category Three must be presented. Please note that parents must also provide a certified copy of the child's birth certificate.

Fee payments

Payments are expected at the time of registration. Unpaid fees from previous school years will need to be paid in full, along with the upcoming school year fees.

Free School Lunches

Children need healthy meals to learn. Community Consolidated School District 181 offers healthy meals every school day at our middle schools. Your children may qualify for free meals or for reduced price meals. If you would like to apply for free or reduced-price meals and financial assistance, complete the Household Eligibility Application, which is in Skyward Family Access on the 'Food Service' Menu page.

Transportation

Students must register by June 20, 2026, to ensure uninterrupted transportation services. First Student, the District's transportation provider, requires finalized transportation details by mid-July for planning purposes. Register by June 20, 2026 to avoid disruptions.

Homebound Instruction

Homebound instruction will be provided to students who have a medical condition that prevents him/her from attending school for two or more consecutive weeks or has ongoing intermittent absences. The homebound application and D181 request form needs to be filled out and signed by a certified medical professional. If you are interested in applying for Homebound Instruction, please contact the Department of Learning at 630.861.4950.

Residency Verification

Residency Verification

To show residency within the District, the person with whom the student lives in the District and who claims custody of the student must present documents as described below. All documents must have the guardian/parent name and in district address. If the person enrolling the student claims the student is homeless or attending school in the student’s former district upon the determination of the Department of Children and Family Services, only the appropriate items in Category Three must be presented. Please note that parents must also bring a certified copy of the child's birth certificate.

Category 1 (Present one of the items below in addition to three items from Category Two.)

Home closing documents dated within six months from the current date
Mortgage statement (most recent) showing property owner name and address of real estate subject to the mortgage
Real estate tax bill (most recent) showing signee as the taxpayer
Lease (signed) for the residence.
Tax assessment PLUS deed (considered one item)

Category 2 (Present three of the items below in addition to one item from Category One.)

Automobile registration in the State of Illinois
Driver’s license for the State of Illinois (not a State ID)
Homeowner’s insurance policy
Medicaid medical card
Public Aid card
Renter’s insurance policy showing name of the renter and in District address of the rental property
Telephone bill (landline only) or cable TV bill
Utility bill for gas, electric and/or water (two separate and current utility bills are acceptable)
Voter registration card with current address

Category 3 (If applicable, otherwise see Categories One and Two.)

The enrollee can indicate the student is homeless and eligible for enrollment under the Illinois Education for Homeless Children Act.
The enrollee can indicate the student is enrolling based on the determination of the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and will need to attach evidence of DCFS determination.
The enrollee can indicate that residency will be established by September 30th of the current school year. Attach a real estate contract, lease or closing statement. In addition, complete a Request for Attendance Prior to Establishing Residency and submit cashier/certified check for the tuition amount outlined in the agreement for each student enrolled in the district. District 181.
The student and parent/guardian are residing with a third party (e.g. family member or friend) within District 181’s boundaries. Parent/guardian and resident homeowner/guarantor will complete and submit an Affidavit of Residency/Resident Homeowner/Guarantor Agreement.

*** To avoid any potential delays or disruptions, we kindly ask parents to adhere to the specified registration windows. Registrations outside the given window will not be allowed.
