About District 181

District 181 is conveniently located just 20 miles west of Chicago and 19 miles south of O'Hare International Airport. We're also nestled near renowned research institutions like Fermilab and Argonne National Laboratory.

Our district proudly serves the communities of Hinsdale and Clarendon Hills, as well as parts of Burr Ridge, Oak Brook, and Willowbrook. We're grateful for the strong support of our community, which is evident in the active involvement of our parent organizations, the dedication of our volunteers, and the exceptional work of our D181 Foundation.

We are incredibly grateful to our students, teachers, staff, parents, and community members for their support and contributions to our district's success. Together, we are building a strong foundation for the future of education in District 181.

Award Winning District - National Blue Ribbons, PLC at Work, National Green Ribbon Award, and more!

District 181 is celebrating a wave of prestigious awards that recognize our commitment to educational excellence and innovation. We are thrilled to announce that several of our schools have been honored with National Blue Ribbons, a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, teachers, staff, and administrators.

Department of Education National Blue Ribbons
The National Blue Ribbon Award is one of the highest honors bestowed upon schools in the United States. It recognizes schools that have demonstrated exemplary academic achievement or have shown significant progress in closing achievement gaps. We are incredibly proud of our schools that have earned this prestigious distinction.

Department of Education National Green Ribbons
Our district's commitment to sustainability is also being recognized. We are proud to have received National Green Ribbons for our efforts to create a more environmentally friendly and sustainable learning environment. Two schools in our district are National Green Ribbon recipients.

PLC at Work
In addition to the National Blue Ribbons, District 181 is also proud to be a PLC at Work district. This designation signifies our commitment to professional learning communities and our focus on continuous improvement. Our teachers and staff collaborate to enhance their practice, share best practices, and ultimately improve student outcomes.

IASB & IASBO Awards
District 181 has also been recognized by the Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB)  and Illinois Association of School Business Officials for our outstanding achievements. We have received awards for various initiatives, including innovative programs, financial management, and community engagement. These awards highlight our district's dedication to excellence in all areas of education.
