
D181 Summer Programs 2026
Summer Learning Program
District 181 is excited to offer enriching summer learning opportunities for students! All District 181 students, as well as age-appropriate students from outside the district, are welcome to participate.
Registration
All District 181 students and interested, age-appropriate students who live within the D181 boundaries are invited to enroll in the 2026 Summer Learning Program. Registration opens to all families with students currently enrolled in D181 on March 27, 2026. Registration for families with students not enrolled in D181 opens on April 7, 2026. Program registration ends on April 18, 2026. Students are not considered registered for the Summer Learning Program until class payment is received in full.
Cost
$175 per one-hour class
$350 per two-hour class
Grade Levels
Students should have completed the grade levels indicated in course descriptions by the first day of class. Students will only be able to register for their grade-level classes.

Closings/Cancellations
Be certain of your summer plans before registering as no refunds will be given. Classes close once maximum enrollment is reached. Classes will be canceled if minimum enrollment is not reached. Registrants will be notified of cancellations and will have the opportunity to register for another class at no additional charge. Unless a class has been closed or canceled, no refunds will be given. There will not be make-up days for any reason (i.e. weather).

Extended School Year
June 8 - June 26, 2026
Extended School Year is a grant-funded 2-hour program for students who receive Special Education support during the school year, and who have ESY included in their IEPs. District 181 students eligible for ESY through their IEP will be registered individually by their Case Manager and Pupil Services Administrator.
- Because ESY is included in students’ IEPs, there is no fee for participation.
- There will be 2 sessions of ESY this summer:
- 8:00 - 10:00 am
- 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Math Bridge
June 4 - June 26, 2026
Math Bridge is a parent-funded 2-hour program for students who have met initial requirements to move up an instructional level in math.
- Students are invited to participate and there is a fee for participation.
- Students will be grouped into virtual and in-person classes.
- There will be 3 sessions of Math Bridge this summer:
- 8-10am (Bridge A, B, and all virtual sections)
- 9-11am (Bridge 5A - 8)
- 10-12pm (Bridge A, B, and Bridge 1 - 4)
- Bridge A and 5A also offer a self-paced packet option

- See this document for a list of standards taught in each Bridge course.
- There is an attendance policy for Math Bridge - students are granted up to TWO absences during Bridge (two full course days OR four course hours). Students who accumulate absences beyond this threshold will remain in their current math trajectory.

Time to Shine

Time to Shine is a two-hour program for students who receive Tier 2 or Tier 3 reading support throughout the school year.
- Students are invited to participate and there is no fee for participation.
- Time to Shine is offered from 8:00 - 10:00 am
