After close to a decade of diligent effort to secure a permanent administrative building and eliminate ongoing rental costs, the D181 Board of Education authorized the acquisition of 133 Ogden on June 26, 2023. The acquisition came after the successful conclusion of an extensive search process launched in 2017, during which District administrators and the Facilities committee evaluated 38 potential locations (17 for acquisition and 21 for lease). Throughout this comprehensive review, 133 Ogden consistently proved to be the most advantageous option for our District and community. The property at 133 Ogden underwent extensive renovations both inside and outside. District administrative departments moved into 133 Ogden Avenue in June of 2025. Currently finishing touches are being completed, with an anticipated interior completion date of mid-late October and an anticipated exterior completion date of mid-late November. Key factors that led to the acquisition of 133 Ogden include:

• Building an Asset: Owning the building, as opposed to renting, creates a long-term asset for the district.
• Lowest Acquisition Price: It had the lowest acquisition price compared to all other properties researched.
• Strategic Location and Suitability: The building is located within District boundaries, has proper zoning, and is the appropriate size for administrative offices and meeting rooms.
• Financing: The District has proactively prepared for this important acquisition for many years. All necessary purchase and renovation funds have been strategically allocated within the existing operating budget, requiring no additional cost to taxpayers.
