The mission of the Board of Education's District Advisory Committees is to advise, assist, and provide support and advocacy for quality education. In addition, advisory committees work to advise the Board of Education on policies, procedures, and methods, which better strengthen educational programs.

The District 181 Advisory committees consist of members who have volunteered their time, talents, and knowledge to help strengthen educational programs. The Board of Education appoints members to a term of service. Each advisory committee develops its program of work based on the needs of the district and programs served. The committees meet several times a year and report to the Board of Education on its recommendations for consideration and action.
