Inspiring Innovation, Encouraging Creativity, Enriching Education
Mission:
The District 181 Foundation is dedicated to inspiring community involvement in education through programs and events that enrich the educational experience of District 181 students.
Purpose:
The Foundation was established in 1997 to support school initiatives that are not, or cannot be, funded by tax dollars alone. An independent, community-based, non-profit 501(c)3 consisting of an all-volunteer board, the Foundation provides grants to help teachers put their creative ideas into action, offers students seed money to carry out community service, and supports educational activities and programming. Funding is generated through special events and programs, individual donations, as well as partnerships with local businesses and other organizations.
To learn about projects that have been funded in the past, apply for a Foundation grant, make a donation, or if you would like to volunteer, please visit www.d181foundation.org.
A Message from the Superintendent:
"In Community Consolidated School District
181, our mission calls for an environment of excellence. We believe that
excellence is achieved and maintained by an ongoing commitment to improvement
and innovation. The Foundation shares that belief and provides above and beyond
opportunities that enrich students' educational experience. By supporting
our students and staff as they develop new and exciting ways to strengthen
classroom learning, we are building for the future. Together with the
D181 Foundation, our staff, parents and the entire community, we can
continue to foster an environment in which students continue to grow and
continue to succeed."
