Welcome to Prospect School

Message from the Principal

On behalf of all the Prospect staff, I would like to welcome you to the 2014-2015 school year! I am very excited to begin this year at Prospect and to work with all of our students, staff and parents. This year, Prospect School is celebrating its ten-year anniversary in the new building.

Our school is a vibrant place to learn, where students are nurtured and our staff maintains high expectations for learning the academic, social and emotional skills needed in today’s world to be successful. Our students are asked to follow three rules at Prospect School: Be Safe, Responsible and Respectful. This allows us to maintain a positive and supportive school learning environment.

Prospect parents are involved in our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). This group coordinates efforts to support the work of our school. Due to the funding provided by the PTO, the students are able to enjoy assemblies and special programs throughout the year. Additionally, the PTO provides financial assistance for classroom libraries, technology and classroom supports. Along with financial support, the PTO coordinates volunteer opportunities for many and varied school events. Please visit the Prospect PTO website for additional information. I also encourage you to visit the website of our District 181 Foundation, which works to further enrich students’ educational experience.

Communication to families and the community is important to us at Prospect and in District 181. The Prospectus is a weekly newsletter that is sent out on Sundays via email. This newsletter gives valuable information to parents about upcoming events and includes important updates. The District also sends out regular communication with important District-wide information. Click here to learn more. Also, teachers post information on their grade level/individual websites that helps parents to know what is occurring in the classroom.

I am proud to be the leader of a school community that is united in our goal of providing the best education possible for each and every one of our students. Please feel free to contact me if you would like any additional information about Prospect School.
