In District 181, we are grateful for the service of committee members. Committees provide an opportunity for the critical collaboration, discussion, and idea sharing that results in school and district improvement. The District 181 Board of Education is seeking parent and community representatives to join its Facilities Committee, which assists in the prioritization of building needs and the development of a multi-year Facilities Master Plan. Specifically, the committee provides guidance on strategic facility initiatives and related District goals, shares community perspectives, provides an open forum for discussion of critical facilities issues, and shares expertise and ideas around ways to improve the efficient and effective use of District resources.
The application for committee membership is available at the District Administration Center (115 West 55th Street, Clarendon Hills) and here. Completed applications are due no later than 4pm on Friday, September 1.
Board Facilities Committee meetings are scheduled for one Tuesday each month, beginning at 6pm. The next meeting is on September 19, 2017 at the Administration Center. The anticipated time commitment for committee members is approximately four hours per month, including two hours of meeting time and two hours of meeting preparation.
