The mission of District 181 is to educate each child in an environment of excellence that provides a foundation for living in a complex world. The district offers a comprehensive K-8 curriculum covering the areas of language arts, mathematics, science, social science, physical education, health, art, music, and foreign language. To support its vision of being a school district where all children experience success and exhibit excellence, the district offers a continuum of services to meet the needs of students with diverse educational needs, including special education and gifted education. Each curricular area is aligned with State of Illinois Learning Standards, which were adopted by the Illinois Legislature in 1997.
