Substitute Requirements

An Illinois Teaching Certificate or Substitute Teaching Certificate is the first requirement. You must then contact the DuPage County Regional Office of Education, 630.407.5800, to make an appointment to be fingerprinted.  The required form can be printed from the DuPage County Regional Office website, www.dupage.k12.il.us.

A physical/TB test is also required.  The physical/TB form may be printed from our website (see below under Forms). Once this has been completed and all results received, please contact Pam Naskrent at 630.887.1070 ext. 284, to set up an appointment to complete the required paperwork.  At the time of your appointment, you need to bring in two forms of ID (Driver’s License or Passport and a Social Security Card).  Prospective substitute teachers must also bring a copy of their college transcripts that must show the degree and date of conferral.

If you are applying to be a substitute nurse, in addition to the above, a copy of your current Illinois Nursing License is required.

All substitute packets are to be completed at the Administration Center.

All prospective substitutes must be interviewed prior to being placed on our substitute list.

District 181’s Administration Center is located at 6010 South Elm Street, Burr Ridge, IL 60527
