The consultants from the University of Virginia presented a preliminary report of the gifted program evaluation to the Board of Education on Monday, January 23, 2012. The report and the podcast from the meeting are posted on the District website for your information. District 181 is committed to transparency, continuous improvement, and achieving our vision of being a school district where all children experience success and exhibit excellence.

Special Announcement Regarding After-School Activities

Most after school activities that take place at our schools will go on as scheduled today, Thursday, January 12, 2012. The Sixth Grade Music Exploratory Concert at Hinsdale Middle School will go on as scheduled, from 7:00- 8:30. Basketball games involving team travel, either for our students or other teams, are canceled. Parent meetings scheduled for this evening will be rescheduled.

Two District 181 Leaders Earn Superintendent Posts

District 181 Board Presents 35 Ambassador Awards

At the Monday, January 9, 2012 meeting, the Community Consolidated School District 181 Board presented Ambassador of Excellence Awards to the following 33 students and two teachers for achievements in local, regional and state competition and programs. The 6:45 p.m. ceremony was the second of the 2011-12 school year.

Six Students Earn Hinsdale Rotary's Youth Merit Award

Six students who attend Clarendon Hills Middle School, Hinsdale Middle School, and Hinsdale Central High School received the Rotary Club of Hinsdale’s Youth Merit Award Friday, January 6, 2012. The award recognizes high school and middle school students for scholarship, leadership and service.

District 181 Administration Center Holiday Hours

Community Consolidated School District 181 administrative offices will be closed from Monday, Dec. 26 through Monday, Jan. 2. The Administrative Center at 6010 South Elm Street in Burr Ridge and the district’s nine schools will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 3. Winter Break for students, teachers and support staff and began at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19.
